BOP II Topic of the Week: AI and Deepfakes
BOP II Topic of the Week: It's been a while since we explored Artificial Intelligence and Deepfakes. As technology advances, it is becoming increasingly difficult to spot the telltale signs - missing fingers, extra limbs, unnatural movements, and blurred faces. What tricks to do use to spot the deepfake details? I've attached a video credited to @thetravisbible to showcase just how convincing deepfakes can be:

I just saw something about this on a show on TV, it was on Fox New and I think it was on The Five. What to do is have a "safe word" worked out with all those you love (especially elderly family members, etc.) so that if they are contacted by someone that's pretending to be you, either by video or by phone, if they don't know the safe word, the other person knows not to do whatever it is they are being asked to do. So if "I" was to call my mother who is 92 this year, and tell her I needed money, she would ask me for the safe word and if I didn't give it to her, she would know it wasn't me. Problem solved.
