Best tip for elderly. Have a safe word that they would have to hear before they sent you anything (like money) or did anything for them. So if someone calls and says they are you, and want your loved one to do something for you, ask for the safe word. If they don't know it, you know it's not them. Or better yet, don't ask for the safe word. You should agree that you would voluntarily offer it. If the person doesn't give it to you without you having to ask for it, you know it's a scam and someone is trying to rip your elderly relative (or friend, etc.) off.
